The Past Dilemma: Choosing Between Secrecy and Transparency

Imagine you are on the verge of being nominated for a prominent position in public life. However, there's a dark patch in your past that, if removed, would make you the ideal candidate for this position. This dark secret has the potential to jeopardize your chances and lead to significant humiliation if someone discovers it after you have assumed the position.

Now, you face a difficult decision. Should you keep your past a secret and take up the high position, knowing that the truth may come to light later and lead to public embarrassment? Or should you take a courageous step and make your dark past public knowledge now, possibly jeopardizing your nomination, but saving yourself from potential humiliation in the future?

Contemplate the consequences of your choices. Reflect on the importance of trust and transparency in public life. How would the revelation of your past affect your credibility and the trust people place in you? What are the potential impacts on your personal and professional life, regardless of the path you choose?

  1. That dark secret can be of personal nature (suicidal nature because of mental condition which can be justified later if necessary) or can be something which affected people (you did some bad things with other people), If you want to freely enjoy that position you should disclose the second kind of bad thing you did otherwise that position is not worth it
