Imagine you're a person who is on a quest to become the richest person in the world. You dedicate yourself to intense tapasya (spiritual practice) to achieve this goal. One day, while immersed in your tapasya, God appears before you and offers to grant your wish of becoming the richest person in the world. However, there's a catch: God explains that you can't enjoy your wealth throughout your entire life. You will either live a life of luxury and abundance but die in poverty, or you will live most of your life in poverty but ultimately become the richest person before you pass away.
In this situation, what would you do? Will you choose a life of temporary riches and then face poverty, or will you opt for a life of struggle and poverty with the reward of becoming the richest person in the end?
